ATEX compliant flexible couplings
Flexible couplings that are suitable for applications in potentially explosive atmospheres as they comply with Group II, Category 2 GD of ATEX Directive 94/9/EC.
Equipment for potentially explosive atmospheres is divided into:
“Group I” equipment for mines subject to risks arising from firedamp; this group consists of two safety level categories.
- Category M1
- Category M2
“Group II” equipment for places with potentially explosive atmospheres, other than mines. This group consists of three safety level categories.
- Category 1
- Category 2
- Category 3
In order to assess specific compliance, it is necessary to identify the zone where the equipment subject to the Directive will be used.
- Zone 0 (G) Zone 20 (D): a place in which an explosive gas mixture is present continuously
- Zone 1 (G) Zone 21 (D): a place in which an explosive gas mixture is likely to occur during normal system operation
- Zone 2 (G) Zone 22 (D): a place in which an explosive gas mixture is not likely to occur, but if it does occur, will persist for a short period only.
GBX series
Hub-hub couplings with rubber elements for shaft-shaft coupling of both driving and driven machines by means of taper bushes already machined with cylindrical bore and keyway. Compared to the GCX series, they offer the benefits of smaller dimensions and the ability to clamp the couplings to shafts using the bush alone. GBFX series
Couplings with rubber elements to couple the flywheels of endothermic engines with the shafts of driven machines by means of a flange-hub connection with a taper bush already machined with a cylindrical bore and keyway. Prompt delivery of ATEX compliant couplings, complete with bushes.
GCX series
Hub-hub couplings with rubber elements for shaft-shaft coupling of both driving and driven machines in ATEX applications.
GCFX series
Couplings with rubber elements, mounting a flange for direct connection to the flywheel of endothermic engines in ATEX applications.
GLFX series
Couplings with rubber elements and a flange for direct connection to the flywheels of endothermic engines with hub lengths greater than those of the GCFX series in ATEX applications.
Serie GPLX
Hub-hub couplings with rubber elements and spacers, suitable for any application that requires quick and easy maintenance on the coupled machines. Inserting a spacer allows the rubber elements to be replaced and hubs to be disassembled without moving the machines. They are especially suitable for electric pumps in ATEX applications.
GPLBX series
Hub-hub couplings with rubber elements and spacers, for applications that require maintenance on the coupled machines without moving them. They have hubs and bushes already machined with a bore and keyway. They are especially suitable for installation on electric pumps in ATEX applications.
